I launched my career as Editor-in-Chief of The Lake Front, the student publication at Our Lady of the Lake University, where I worked alongside some of San Antonio’s finest emerging voices, including film critic Kiko Martinez. In 2001, I broadened my journalism experience with an internship at Televisa studios in Tijuana and FOX News in San Diego.
After earning my degree, I joined Focus Daily News in DeSoto, Texas, as a reporter and photographer, covering local news and telling the stories that mattered to the community.
In 2008, I focused my career on film by founding BigDPlace.com, one of Dallas/Fort Worth’s first independent entertainment blogs, which later grew into PulpLizard.com. This platform became a creative space to explore and critique film, connecting with a dedicated audience of cinephiles and pop culture enthusiasts.
For the next eight years, I immersed myself in entertainment reporting, balancing freelance assignments with my own creative projects. I had the privilege of meeting and collaborating with a diverse array of individuals, from film stars and musicians to politicians and international celebrities, each encounter enriching my perspective on the industry.
However, as with all chapters in life, this steady phase came to a close. In 2019, I took a bold step and immigrated to Ireland, where I now work in the Communications Department at the Law Society of Ireland. Additionally, I am writing a book inspired by the wild and fascinating experiences I’ve had in Dublin.
